In Kelvin's own words:

"I have played guitar for more than 50 years, love how they feel, how they sound, how they work, and their history, all tied up with the blues. It helps that one branch of my family is from the deep South of the USA.

This talk will follow three lines - first it's about electric guitars, how they work, why they are the bluesman's instrument of choice, why they are different and why I need so many.....

Second it's about my musical journey, discovering the blues and standing, literally, at the Crossroads (I didn't fall down on my knees though).

And, last but not least, it will be an illustrated musical journey from a trip we did down U.S. Highway 61 two years ago, including a walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, a day in Graceland, and lunch at Chris' (Famous) Hot Dogs in Montgomery - where Hank Williams wrote "Hey Good Lookin'.

The talk will feature a few guitars, some iconic ones, some rather less well known. On the latter, I might bring along a guitar that survived a tornado, a guitar made in Scotland, and a very strange guitar designed by Gerry Cott (of the Boomtown Rats)".
