Mary’s Meals provides life-changing school meals to children who are living in some of the world’s poorest communities in 16 different countries. The promise of a good meal brings hungry children into the classroom, where they can gain an education and better opportunities for the future. The organisation has a remarkable history which the speakers will share with us and describe the challenges faced when delivering this form of aid in some of the most dangerous parts of the world. From a simple answer to the founder’s question of a small boy in Malawi, this impressive organisation was born and continues to support some of the poorest communities. The question - what did the boy hope for in life? And the reply - “I would like to have enough food to eat and to be able to go to school one day."

As usual, after the talk, there will be an opportunity to chat to fellow members over tea, coffee and home baking. New members will be made very welcome!
