A second Scottish History group is now up and running. New members are very welcome.

The aim of our group is to explore Scotland's past in whatever way members like.  So topics could be about anything from the geological formation of what we now call Scotland, right up to the rise of the SNP and beyond.  We can look at social, political or personal history (prominent or influential Scottish people and their life and work).  Ideally everyone will lead a session from time to time by doing research into something they are particularly interested in, and then passing on what they have discovered.  We like it to be informal and there is no need for technology unless someone is so inclined!  Some members don't feel able to lead, and they are welcome to attend as a listener and contributor to the later discussion.  We have found that conversation often leads us to share a wealth of other knowledge we all have gained over the years, as well as the topic in hand. Our group is also trying out having no leader for some meetings, members bringing their own research for a general discussion. Please contact Marion for more information, by clicking on the link next to Group email above , or just turn up to join - there is plenty of space for more!
