Interest Groups - what are they and how do they work?

Interest Groups are the most popular aspect of our u3a. We have a huge variety of physical activities, discussions, languages, games, social and cultural activities. Locations will depend upon the activity and there may be a fee for space rental or materials. Many groups are also held in members' homes. Each group has a coordinator who carries out the small amount of administration required, but need not be an expert in the subject.

You must be a member of our Forth Valley u3a to join a group. Please join us before contacting Group Coordinators.

Groups can be on any topic or activity. Each group focuses on a specific topic or activity. Whether you are interested in sport, card games, discussion, music, reading, learning a language or your wellbeing, there will be something for you. Some groups, though, are very popular and fill up very quickly. Where there is sufficient demand, we will try to form another group.

Some groups may require additional payment such as contributions for room hire, travel, refreshments, etc. Each group is financially self-sufficient.

If you have an idea for a new group or would like to help set one up, please get in touch with Group Administration.

Below you will find all of our groups. Click on the appropriate button below to sort them alphabetically, by category, by meeting day or by venue. The name of each group is a link to that group's own page, where you can get more information about that group, where and when it meets and any other relevant information. If you want more information about a group, click on the Group email link within the group's page to contact the Group Coordinator.

If you wish to visit one of our groups, please contact the Group Coordinator before attending as days and times may occasionally change.
